While there aren’t as many female idols with tattoos as there are male idols, the ones who do rock them with confidence. From colorful and playful little pieces to heartfelt phrases, here are some female idols who aren’t afraid to show off their tattoos.
HyunA has many small tattoos dotted across her body, one of them being her cute row of colored emoji faces. Many of them are forms of lettering, like the phrase “My mother is the heart that keeps me alive” written on the back of her shoulder.
2. MAMAMOO’s Hwasa
Hwasa has six tattoos, from her baptismal name “Maria” written on the back of her neck, to a matching tattoo with Wheein of the word “Caddo” on the side of her neck, meaning “someone who carries your sorrows on her back.”

5. F(x)’s Amber Liu
Amber is one of the few k-pop idols with a full tattoo sleeve, a collection of both meaningful and spontaneous tattoos that act as personal memories saved on her skin.
6. (G)I-DLE’s Soojin
Soojin has eight tattoos, all done in a simple minimalist style like the cross on the back of her shoulder, a cloud inside her finger, and “self love is the best love” written on her upper arm.

13. BLACKPINK’s Jennie
Jennie, in fact, did have a tattoo pre-debut!
She sported a temporary tattoo on her wrist with the words “Stay Strong” designed in cursive.
She used it as a reminder to keep holding on to her dream of being an idol. As she trained for six years in YG Entertainment before her debut in 2016, it was a long and arduous journey for her.
The tattoo marked her insecurities that she wouldn’t ever debut. Now, Jennie is one of the most recognized celebrities both locally and internationally.
She may no longer have the tattoo, but Jennie proves that she really did stay strong!
