BLACKPINK and ITZY’s Debut Songs Have Hit 100 Million Streams On Spotify

Both ITZY and BLACKPINK have had their debut songs hit 100 million streams on Spotify! BLACKPINK notably debuted with two title tracks, and both songs have surpassed 100 million streams.

Between the two, “BOOMBAYAH” is the most-streamed debut song with 271,307,604 streams on Spotify (as of May 25).

BLACKPINK’s other debut song, “WHISTLE,” has 194,725,517 streams on Spotify as of May 25. It is so close to hitting 195 million streams!

Overall, BLACKPINK’s debut single album “SQUARE ONE,” which contains both these tracks, has been streamed 466,033,121 times.

Despite “BOOMBAYAH” being the more streamed song, “WHISTLE” was more popular in Korea. In South Korea, “WHISTLE” garnered 4.3 million streams within the first week of its release.

The following week, it surpassed 5 million streams. By the end of the month, “WHISTLE” had reached 17 million streams.

ITZY’s debut song, “DALLA DALLA,” on the other hand, has been streamed 147,385,415 times as of May 25. It is the girl group’s second most-streamed song on the platform after “WANNABE,” which has 158,066,236 streams.

In Nov. 2019, “DALLA DALLA” was certified platinum by the Korean Music Content Association (KMCA) for surpassing 100 million streams, making it the first debut song by a K-pop group to earn the platinum certification since the certification was introduced in 2018.

BLACKPINK Rosé and Jennie’s Solo Debut Songs Have Surpassed 100 Million Streams On Spotify

It is not only BLACKPINK as a group that is racking up streams on Spotify — the members who have debuted as soloists are too!

Jennie’s solo debut song “SOLO,” which was released in 2018, has 292,757,383 streams on Spotify. It is the idol’s only solo release so far.

Upon the song’s release, “SOLO” topped the Gaon Streaming Chart. “SOLO” once again made headlines in 2019 when it was certified platinum by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) for surpassing 100 million streams.

Rosé’s solo song, “On The Ground,” on the other hand, has just broken the 100 million streams mark!

As of May 25, “On The Ground” has 100,472,121 streams on Spotify.

“On The Ground” debuted at the top of the Global 200 streams upon its release, with 92.1 million global streams and 29,000 global downloads sold.

With two days of tracking, “On The Ground” debuted at number fifteen on the Gaon Digital Chart. It later peaked to number four, making it Rosé’s first top-ten hit.
