In the week ending on Oct. 1, BLACKPINK made history as the first female K-pop artist to reach No. 1 on Billboard 200 with “BORN PINK.” The full album was able to rank first on the chart after selling a total of 102,000 equivalent units during the week ending on Sept. 22.

Now, according to Billboard on Oct. 2 local time, “BORN PINK” once again secured a spot on the same chart for the week ending on Oct. 8. The album ranked fourth with a total of 40,000 equivalent album units sold in its second week in the United States.

Even though the album sold less copies this time and dropped to No. 4 on the famous Top 200 Albums chart, the four-member global girl group achieved a new feat, something that no other female K-pop artist has done before.

In particular, BLACKPINK is now the first female K-pop act in history to stay in the top five on Billboard 200 for two weeks. They are also now the first female K-pop artist to ever have two albums remain in the top 10 on the chart for multiple weeks. Prior to “BORN PINK,” “THE ALBUM” is the first BLACKPINK album and first K-pop girl group album to spend several weeks in the top 10.
