On January 4, 2022, Esquire Korea named the six K-pop girl groups you should anticipate this year. From H1-KEY to Baby Monster and more, read on to see the full list!
1. H1-KEY

HI-KEY is set to debut on January 5, 2022, and is the first girl group under Grandline Group. The group consists of Seoi (2000), Sitala (1996), Riina (2001), and Yel (2004).
Riina previously competed on “Produce 48” as a WM Entertainment trainee. Competing under her real name, Lee Seunghyun, she finished the show in 73rd place.
2. NMIXX

JYP Entertainment’s upcoming girl group NMIXX is already receiving so much attention; they already have a fan cafe without debuting!
The seven-member girl group consists of an all-visual line-up: Lily M (2002), Haewon (2003), Sullyoon (2004), Jinni (2004), BAE (2004), Jiwoo (2005), and Kyujin (2006). They are scheduled to make their debut in February.
3. BABY MONSTER

YG Entertainment is expected to debut their first girl group since BLACKPINK in 2016 this year! YG Entertainment is known for birthing global stars, so expectations are high for this girl group.
The current line-up is speculated to be Yang Chaeun (2006), Noh Hyerin (2006), Kang Seojin (2000), Jane (1999), and Vicky (2000).
4. ADOR Girl Group

Back in November 2021, HYBE Labels established ADOR for their new girl group that will debut in 2022. The group will be managed by Min Hee Jin, the company’s CBO and former SM Entertainment creative director.
Currently, a line-up has not been revealed, but people suspect Lee Seohyun (2004), Kim Minji (2004), and Ryu Hanbi (2004) will likely be members.
5. Source Music Girl Group

Source Music, the agency that previously housed GFRIEND, is reported to be debuting a new girl group in 2022. The rumored members of the group include former IZ*ONE members Miyawaki Sakura (1998) and Kim Chaewon (2000).
Another rumored member is former “Produce 48” contestant Huh Yunjin (2001). Additionally, Yoon Chaebin (2006) is also speculated to be part of the line-up.
6. MLD Entertainment Girl Group

MLD Entertainment is set to debut a new girl group in 2022. Currently, “Girls Planet 999” contestant Nonoka Shana (2003) and Filipino-Argentinian trainee Chantal Videla (2002) are most likely to debut in the group. Another trainee, Nancy Yang, is speculated to also debut with the two.
